      Acclaimed by the critics to have a very strong technique and beautifully powerful tone, Violinist Yura Oh has performed extensively as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral musician at major venues like Alice Tully Hall, Peter Jay Sharp Theater, David Geffen Hall and Carnegie Hall in the states. She has also performed throughout the US, Asia and Europe. Most recently, Yura has completed her studies with New York Philharmonic’s former concertmaster Glenn Dicterow, and Principal Second Lisa Kim, at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. Additional studies include Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from the Juilliard School, where she was a scholarship recipient under the tutelage of Itzhak Perlman, Catherine Cho, Donald Weilerstein and David Chan. Her latest achievements include playing as a concertmaster under the baton of Leonard Slatkin of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Also, as a member of the CN Philharmonic based in New York City, she was invited to perform at the Lincoln Center and at the United Nations.  

    She is a prize winner for many competitions in Korea, including the Korea and Germany Association Competition. In United States, she won the concerto competition at the Juilliard School where she performed with the Juilliard Orchestra at Peter Jay Sharp Theatre under the baton of Maestro Ki Sun Sung. Other awards include the LISMA Foundation Competition and the New Jersey Philharmonic Competition. As an avid chamber musician, she has worked with many great artists and mentors like Merry Peckham, David Finckel, Paul Neubauer, Lara Lev and Lewis Kaplan. She is also a member of the New York Trio where the members share the goal of promoting the great composers and music of our time, while also celebrating the more traditional chamber music repertoire of the past.  

      As a young artist, Yura has participated in master classes with Itzhak Perlman, Glen Dicterow, Guillaume Sutre, and with Georgy Pauk in recent years. She has also been a part of the Perlman Music Program for five years, Great Mountains Music Festival in Korea, the Fontainebleau Music School in France and lastly, the Music Academy of the West in the summer of 2015. As an avid supporter of the music today, she was invited to perform in the Focus! Festival at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre. In the same year, she had a recital in the University Club of Manhattan for the Perlman Music Program and at the WMP hall for Strad for Lunch series. In 2014, she was selected to participate in New York String Orchestra Seminar under the baton of Jamie Laredo at the Carnegie Hall. In 2015, she was a featured artist to perform at Symphony Space in Manhattan for the Judith Zaimont's 70th year celebration concert where she performed the Zaimont's Piano Trio No.2 "Zones" with Professor Polk from the Manhattan School of Music.
      Currently, Yura maintains active career as an artist of Leo Management in New York. Outside of stage, she enjoys teaching younger generation of musicians.
